During two decades, I have created hundreds goddesses and fish on the stones of the river and have dedicated them to nature. Due to a lack of respect, these figures have historically been ignored and distorted. For me, they are metaphors for nature and the life of living creatures who endure pain, suffering, and are destroyed by the evils of our time. As a consequence my works become a ladder whereby I can expand their meaning by reference the ancient myths, beliefs, and even social conditions.
In many cultures, it was believed that the earth herself is the mother goddess. Polluting and harming the earth can be an assault on Mother Earth. It was believed that this wounded woman is an unwanted victim of evil. So she was excused from accepting many duties. In the contemporary world, women’s rights in history were reviewed and investigated. In many social movements women heroes are admired. The paradox in this work is that this heaven is personal and a fantasy. This lost heaven has been devastated by today’s technology.
